Volunteering with Plants

Rhodo Grove MaintenancePlant collection volunteers do the gardening that helps make the Arboretum beautiful. This is an opportunity for people who like to dig in the soil and help things grow.

Opportunities range from coming by for an hour or two to plant, water, weed, deadhead or prune to "adopting" an area of your own to care for.

Our plant collection includes a wide range of trees and shrubs as well as herbs, bulbs, perennials and annuals. The only requirement is a willingness, and the physical ability, to do the kind of "dirty work" that plants need to do their best.

Gardeners can choose to work either as part of a team during scheduled work days or on their own whenever they have the time.

Interested? Fill out this form. You will not be committing yourself by doing so, but we will keep you informed of opportunities available in your area of interest.
