"to promote the knowledge and appreciation of Maine's trees and other flora for people of all ages by offering educational, recreational, and inspirational opportunities."
The Arboretum is an independent non profit corporation 501 c(3). Funding for the Arboretum is derived from grants as well as from membership fees and gifts, which are tax deductible. Operating funds come from membership support - from people like you. Membership dues are considered charitable donations and are tax deductible. They are the major source of income for the Arboretum.

Our Policy:
The grounds of the Arboretum are open dawn to dusk every day at no charge, although donations to help defray the costs of upkeep are welcome. The trail system provides year-round access for hiking, jogging, bird watching, non-motorized biking, horseback riding, and cross-country skiing.
Picnicking is permitted, however, there are no trash receptacles; please carry out what you carry in. Pets are allowed on leashes no longer than 15 feet.
Smoking, weapons, motor vehicles, alcohol, fires, camping, and all activities that damage plants are prohibited.
